Xavien Howard
While the reports about Kaiir Elam have overwhelmingly been positive this summer, the Buffalo Bills should be looking to add a veteran backup just in case. After Elam, the Buffalo Bills cornerbacks have a combined four starts and those are all by Cam Lewis.
Similar to linebacker, the Bills have had to deal with their fair share of injuries at the position over the years between Tre'Davious White (who was released this offseason), Christian Benford, and even Rasul Douglas. It would make sense to have a veteran waiting if the need were to arise for them to step in.
The player that makes the most sense for that role would be Xavien Howard, who was a long-time Miami Dolphins cornerback. He has 99 career starts with 29 interceptions and 95 passes defended and was selected to the Pro Bowl as recently as 2022.
Similar to Leonard, Howard might be waiting for a starting job and that is the reason he hasn't signed yet. However, if the Bills can sell him on the idea of being a backup on a one-year deal it would help complete the position.
