Mack Hollins
The Buffalo Bills would bring in two veteran wide receivers prior to the 2024 NFL Draft by signing free agents Curtis Samuel and Mack Hollins. While it was assumed that the Bills would be addressing wide receiver during the NFL Draft, it wasn't clear what type of wide receiver they would add.
In the end, the Bills selected Keon Coleman with the first pick of the second round. The former Florida State wide receiver has the skill set to play as an 'X' receiver, which is the role that Gabe Davis typically played the past two seasons.
It was also the likely role that Mack Hollins would have stepped into if the Bills hadn't drafted Coleman. Even though Hollins wasn't necessarily a full-time starter previously, he would certainly contribute and play 30% or more of the offensive snaps each of the past three seasons.
The reason he was able to get on the field is that he is an excellent run blocker but recently showed he can make an impact as a pass catcher. Hollins might still have a role because of his ability as a run-blocker but the starting job should be going to Coleman.
