There is no question that James Cook is the primary running back for the Buffalo Bills and he is going to be drafted as such in fantasy football. However, with limited touchdown potential he might struggle to produce in line with the draft capital and where he is picked.

While Cook will still be productive, it makes more sense to take a flyer on Ray Davis later in drafts. The Bills drafted Davis in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft and he is a big running back but also is an effective pass catcher out of the backfield.

He is already making a good impression during OTAs as Alex Brasky makes a prediction that Davis will be involved early in the offense. The worst case scenario is that Davis is a goal-line back and should have plenty of opportunities to vulture touchdowns and that makes him a great running back for best ball leagues.

However, the best case scenario is that this is a split backfield in terms of touches and if Davis is the goal-line back, he could be the better running back in fantasy football.
