3 reasons fans should love the Buffalo Bills signing of Curtis Samuel
Curtis Samuel gives the Buffalo Bills speed at the position
In Curtis Samuel's six seasons in the NFL, he only has a career average of 10.7 yards per reception and the average is under 10 when looking at his last three seasons in Washington. When looking at these stats, it would seem that Samuel doesn't have the speed the Bills were missing last season and need at the position.
However, when looking at some other stats it can provide some context to the lower averages, especially as of late. When looking at the average depth of target, the past four seasons he has been under eight yards which is significantly lower than his second and third season in the league where he had 11.9 yards in 2018 and 14.6 yards in 2019.
In those two seasons, he had average yards per reception of 12.7 and 11.6 yards. He has not been utilized much as a deep threat recently which is surprising considering he had a 40-yard dash time of 4.31 seconds prior to the NFL Draft.
