This whole situation between Taylor and the Colts started due to a zoom meeting involving running backs across the league regarding their value and getting paid accordingly. Since then, there has been back and forth drama between the two parties.

After Irsay said that the team will not trade Taylor moving forward, Adam Schefter reported that the Colts officially gave Taylor permission to look for a trade.
