Is this the final year for the duo of Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer?

When Micah Hyde suffered the neck injury in Week 2 against the Tennessee Titans it seemed very likely that it was the last time we saw Hyde and Poyer together in an NFL game in a Buffalo Bills uniform. After the 2022 season, Poyer was set to be a free agent and all indications were that he would likely be leaving Western New York.

The market for Poyer didn't really materialize and the two sides were able to agree on a new contract that keeps the former All-Pro in Buffalo through the 2024 season. However, the same question remains entering this season of whether or not this will be the final year for one of the best safety duos in the league.

The reason is that it is now Micah Hyde entering the final year of his contract and could be a free agent after the season. The fact that both have been together since 2017 is a rarity in the NFL today as that type of longevity is not found very often with one franchise.

There is no question that the defense is better with these two backing them up in the secondary but it may be the final year for this pair.
