3.) Get involved in the run game

Comparing this season to previous seasons, Allen has not been the main ball carrier in the offense on the ground. However, it is not necessarily the worst thing in the world because the Bills have found themselves their true number one back in James Cook (who became the first Bills’ running back to reach 1,000 rushing yards in a season since LeSean McCoy back in 2017).

On the other hand, the offense does have a better flow when QB run designs are called in which Allen usually has more success than not.

Part of Bill Belichick’s coaching philosophy is taking away an opposing team’s best player. He will look towards Allen and look to have him contained. Although he will not only have to find a way to shut down the pass, but also keep Allen from scrambling out of the pocket if possible. Allen can extend the plays with his legs and it would be a good idea for Joe Brady to throw Allen and his running ability towards Belichick and his defense.
