Well, we’ve made it. The NFL is officially back and the Buffalo Bills will hit the field for the first time in just a couple of more days. It was an off-season that felt like it went on forever, especially after the way Buffalo ended their season in January. The team will look to start on the right foot with a win against the newly primed division rival, New York Jets.

The Jets have become the media’s darling this off-season since they added future hall of fame quarterback, Aaron Rodgers. The Jets have a very good roster, with tons of new additions. However, the Bills are being written off already. The Buffalo Bills are the current reigning AFC East division winners for three years in a row and you would never even know it.

They lost three games last season, by a combined eight points. They lost some players, but none bigger than linebacker Tremaine Edmunds. Outside of middle linebacker, the Bills roster improved. What is completely overlooked is the fact the team will be getting back multiple of their star players from injury. Some young players with big aspirations will even be taking on bigger roles this season.

If the Bills want to simmer down some of the Jets’ hype and start off the year with a win, they’ll need to be sound on defense. Here are the key players on defense that you should note, heading into the Monday night showdown in MetLife.
