Trent Sherfield

The absence of Stefon Diggs is not anything new this offseason as he has not participated in any OTAs to this point. That has opened up reps for other wide receivers who could be further down on the depth chart.

One of those players has been Trent Sherfield, who Josh Allen said last month impressed him with his performance thus far.

Trent Sherfield was one of those free agent additions that the Buffalo Bills made this offseason that has to be integrated into the offense. Between his time with the San Francisco 49ers and last year with the Miami Dolphins, Sherfield has been primarily a special teams player.

He should continue in that role but he had a bigger role in the Dolphins' offense last season with career high in receptions (30), receiving yards (417), and receiving touchdowns (2). Trent Sherfield is not a player that can replace Stefon Diggs but he is a player that should give the coaching staff confidence in the depth at the position.
