2 players on offense who need to impress at Buffalo Bills minicamp

Marquez Valdes-Scantling

Valdes-Scantling is coming over from the Kansas City Chiefs, where he totaled 1,002 yards and three touchdowns in two seasons, including 315 yards and one touchdown in 2023. “MVS” as he’s called, comes into a rebuilt wide receiver room in need of a playmaker. Scantling showed his deep threat ability while with the Green Bay Packers, with his longest pass he hauled in for 78 yards in 2020. 

He signed a one-year deal with Buffalo back in May, and ever since then, many believe he has a legit shot at making the roster. Unless an unforeseen acquisition happens between now and Week 1, there’s no reason why he shouldn’t make the roster. Buffalo’s deep ball target, Gabe Davis, left in free agency and with that, left a gaping hole in that area. That leaves Valdes-Scantling filling that hole as the team's new deep threat, and in turn, Josh Allen’s new best friend. 

As the Bills are looking for depth, specifically four through six, the Bills don’t have a lot of talent to push him out of a roster spot. With MVS, Justin Shorter, Chase Claypool, and Andy Isabella all fighting for roster spots, Valdes-Scantling will have the best chance out of the four of them to crack this roster, and he shouldn’t let go of this opportunity.
