The wide receiver room for the Buffalo Bills looks different than it has the last two seasons. The obvious main reason why is the addition of a true No. 1 receiver in DJ Moore. Buffalo has been lacking a WR1 since they traded Stefon Diggs in 2024 to the Houston Texans.
Then during the NFL Draft, the Bills managed to acquire UConn wide receiver Skyler Bell in the 4th round, who could very well be a big time steal for the franchise. Either way, the wide receiver room is in a much better spot than it was last year.
The biggest storyline within this group has been Keon Coleman, but both Brandon Beane and Joe Brady have been publicly supportive of Coleman. Now, it’s time to see how he can mature on and off the field going into this third season.
Even though Brady will still be calling the plays as the head coach, he still went out and hired Pete Carmichael Jr. as his offensive coordinator. Carmichael Jr. and Brady worked together under Sean Payton in New Orleans, and Carmichael was with Payton in Denver as well.
Pete Carmichael Jr. delivers praise to Bills' WR room (and fans should feel confident)
He and Brady are aligned on what the offense could be in Buffalo, and Carmichael Jr. spoke with the media about the wide receiver room, mentioning a statement that should have fans feeling confident heading into the 2026 season.
According to Andy Young, Carmichael Jr. said "They are coming off the ball and they are fast. They're playing hard. I'm excited about the way that group is practicing right now. I really am."

I know, it’s only June. But still, seeing the progress that the wide receiver is making from Carmichael’s perspective is promising. After all, it’s the one position on the Bills that has faced a ton of criticism the last couple of seasons. Now, it is upgraded on paper, but it’s what happens on the field that matters the most.
With mandatory minicamp coming up here soon, and training camp kicking off next month, this unit will be closely observed to see what it can do in a game-like situation. Pressure is going to be turned up, and we will find out soon who is going to make an impact, and who could very well be on the sidelines or possibly not on the team at all.
