Prior to the start of the season, the Buffalo Bills were labeled as clear-cut AFC East winners and there were a lot of people who were thinking that they would be on their way to their sixth consecutive division title. Right now, that doesn’t look to be the case at all. Even though the Bills are at 4-1 entering tomorrow’s game, the New England Patriots are right behind them at 4-2.
Last Sunday night, the Patriots beat the Bills in Orchard Park which gives them the tiebreaker advantage. Since it will be quite some time before these two teams match up, the Bills have to do whatever it takes to avoid running into a tiebreaker scenario. Well, that could be the case for tomorrow night.
Since the Patriots won against the Bills, if the Bills lose tomorrow night against the Atlanta Falcons, the Patriots would jump up to first place in the AFC East. Not to mention, the Bills are going into their bye for Week 7 so that could give the Pats a chance to extend their lead in Week 7.
Bills have massive pressure to win in Week 6
If the Bills were to lose tomorrow night, not only would the Pats overtake the AFC East, but they would have the chance to build off of it against a weak Titans team in Week 7.
A lot of people were talking about whether or not the Bills could live up to the pressure in the playoffs…well that pressure is now whether or not they can keep their division lead. The Falcons are not exactly a powerhouse, but they aren’t a pushover. They will be looking to pull off an upset against the Bills and make a statement to the rest of the league.
While the Patriots made a bunch of good moves this offseason to help their future, they are starting to look like they are ahead of schedule and are now putting huge pressure on the Bills.
