We can officially say we are two months away from the 2025 NFL preseason. Next month is training camp and then we will get some live football in three warm up games from all 32 teams in preparation for the regular season. For the preseason, it’s a time where teams do a true evaluation of who makes the final 53-man roster.
When it comes to the true championship contenders, it’s a time for the coaching staff to decide who can help make a run at the Super Bowl. Those contenders obviously include the Buffalo Bills, who have been in the Super Bowl window for the last half decade with Josh Allen under center.
The only problem is that in two of the last five seasons, the Bills have had their hearts broken at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs twice in the conference championship. Three of the postseason trips have ended the Bills’ season in the divisional round by both the Chiefs and Bengals. Notice a trend here?
Bills have suffered heartbreak after heartbreak to Chiefs
The Bills are a powerhouse, but have yet to reach the Super Bowl in the Josh Allen era, and that begs the question that was asked by Lou Scataglia from NFL Spin Zone; “How do the Bills make a Super Bowl run?”
Scataglia asked “one burning question” for every team going into the 2025 season and the Bills’ one was very obvious. Here’s what Scataglia had to say about the Bills:
"The Buffalo Bills are another team that just cannot get over the hump in the NFL playoffs - how do they do just that in 2025? What will it take for this team to slay the dragon, if you will, and get past the Kansas City Chiefs, their playoff kryptonite?"Lou Scataglia, NFL Spin Zone
We are getting sick and tired of the Bills’ story ending right before the biggest game of the season. Buffalo is too talented to not atleast make a Super Bowl appearance while they have Allen right in the middle of his prime.
To answer Scataglia’s question about getting past the Chiefs in the playoffs is to hope that Buffalo doesn’t have to play Kansas City in the postseason. We’ve seen the Bills lose to the Chiefs in a blowout, and by less than a touchdown. We’ve seen them lose in Kansas City as well as in Buffalo. There’s no other scenario to try out.
At the end of the day, the Bills just simply need to hope that they don’t run into the Chiefs in the playoffs. That will really increase their chances to finally reaching and possibly winning the Super Bowl.
