The Buffalo Bills have officially created chaos in the head coaching cycle as they have made the move to fire Sean McDermott after 9 seasons with the organization. Now the Bills will begin their search for their next head coach, something that they haven’t done since 2017. However, the Bills just became the top landing spot for all the available candidates that are looking for a head coaching job.

The Bills are obviously behind on the process as there have already been two new head coach hirings, but Buffalo has now created themselves as the best landing spot for any candidate out there.

Now, the busy part will begin. As the Bills begin their search, NFL Insider Dianna Russini has brought up a report that Bills fans should really keep an eye on.

Familiar name being thrown around as Bills' potential next HC

Russini is reporting that a familiar name keeps popping up by NFL executives on who could be the next head coach in Buffalo, and the name is Brian Daboll who was the Bills’ former offensive coordinator from 2018-2021.

This would not be unexpected at all if Buffalo decided to bring in Daboll as the guy to take over for McDermott. He knows the culture and he plays a major factor in why Josh Allen turned into one of the best quarterbacks in the league.

Daboll left Buffalo to become the head coach of the Giants in 2022, but was fired in the middle of this season after another rough start. However, Joe Schoen retained his job.

It wasn’t all of Daboll’s fault as to why the Giants went downhill. He’s not the one that let Saquon Barkley walk in free agency, and he’s not the one that gave Daniel Jones a huge contract extension when he wasn’t playing up to that kind of contract.

With this idea, the Bills could get someone back who knows the players and the building which keeps some of the continuity. However, he would then have to decide whether or not Joe Brady and Bobby Babich would stick with him.
