Overreactions in the NFL happen every week and all football fans are guilty of it in some fashion. Whether it is a small overreaction or big overreaction, headlines get noticed and the attention shines on some analysts. One week we are all in love with a team who won in dominating fashion, then we are giving up on them the next week when they have a bad game.

The Buffalo Bills find themselves in these conversations all the time no matter what happens with them. When they are lighting up the scoreboard, they are one of the most beloved teams across the league and become Super Bowl favorites. Then when they lost in an ugly fashion, Josh Allen, Sean McDermott and the entire roster gets criticized all week long.

Spirits in Buffalo are low as of right now. After a red hot 3-0 start, the Bills have lost back-to-back games to the Ravens and Texans in ugly fashion. First it was a blowout loss in Baltimore where the entire team fell apart. Then it was going down 20-3 and Josh Allen completed only 30% of his throws just to lose off of a walkoff field goal as time expired.

Now the Bills turn their attention towards the New York Jets for a Monday Night Football showdown under the lights. Both teams are facing some sort of pressure.

Bills fans have been hearing the noise all week and doubters are having a field day. On Sunday morning, NFL on FOX was hosting their pregame show that featured NFL Hall of Fame player Charles Woodson, who decided to make a bold claim about the Bills after their two consecutive losses.

Charles Woodson believes the Bills 2024 season is over

Woodson went into talking about the missing presence of Stefon Diggs for the Bills and how it has affected Buffalo the last two weeks, specifically how the Bills have gone 6-for-27 on third down conversions the last two games. Then Woodson said he is out on the Bills for the season and that the “only thing that can save them is a weak division”.

With all due respect, Woodson couldn't be anymore wrong about this take

It only took five games for someone to leave the Bills bandwagon and that is totally fine. Every team goes through some kind of rough stretch but to say that the Bills have no chance moving forward is ridiculous.

It seems like Woodson forgot the fact that once Joe Brady took over as the interim offensive coordinator last season, the Bills lost just once in the regular season in a game where they put up 34 points against the Philadelphia Eagles. Then in the AFC divisional round against the Kansas City Chiefs, it was Diggs who had the chance to help set the Bills up for a comeback win but he dropped a long pass from Allen that ultimately shutdown any kind of momentum.

We get it, the Bills look rough right now. However, they are still 3-2, on top of the AFC East, and they tend to respond well to pressure when they are backed into a corner. Not to mention, they are taking a Jets team that is going through a coaching transition. It looks like we will have to see if Woodson’s bold claim comes true, or if it is just yet again another bad overreaction.
