Since becoming the general manager of the Buffalo Bills, Brandon Beane has done a great job at drafting outside of the first round. While that is a bit silly to say, the Bills have brought in some solid franchise players that Buffalo didn’t have to spend a first round pick on.

Some of those players include Taron Johnson, Dawson Knox, Gabe Davis, Spencer Brown, James Cook, Khalil Shakir, Christian Benford, Cole Bishop, and Deone Walker. All of these players were drafted out of the first round, yet have brought a big impact to the Bills in some shape or form. There could be another player added to this list very soon.

Bills' Day 3 draft pick could become immediate contributor for Josh Allen

ESPN senior NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler delivered intel about all 32 NFL teams with the draft being over, and Fowler's report on the Bills will have fans pleased. First, Fowler talked about Buffalo’s approach of trading down multiple times and gaining extra picks, but then finished it off with the selection of wide receiver Skyler Bell.

"Multiple scouts see fourth-round receiver Skyler Bell (UConn) contributing right away. He has polish to his game and tested well predraft. There was an outside chance he would go in the third round but was appropriately picked in the fourth." said Fowler.

Buffalo was able to get Bell near the end of the 4th round which was very surprising when you look at his production that he has produced the last two seasons at UConn. Last season, Bell finished with 1,278 yards and 13 touchdowns. He can play inside or outside, and he will be able to help Joe Brady open up the playbook.

Fans know that Josh Allen has been needing wide receiver help the last two seasons. If they had better support, you could make an argument that Buffalo would have been in the Super Bowl, and maybe even won it as well.

Now that Buffalo has added D.J. Moore to be Allen’s No. 1 wideout, that takes care of that problem. However, the addition of Bell gives Allen a rookie wideout who he can grow with over time but also immediately connect with on the field.

It’s only May and anything can happen, but there has been a lot of hype surrounding the Bell pick and if he produces immediately, the Bills will have themselves a big time steal at a crucial position.
