You can make the argument for each Round 1 scenario for the Buffalo Bills heading into next week’s NFL Draft. Whether it’s a trade-up, a trade-down, or even just staying put at No. 30, the Bills will have to make a decision on what is in the best interest for them. Last year, they made two bold decisions; trading back with the Kansas City Chiefs and trade out of the first round with the Carolina Panthers.
Buffalo has ten picks to work with and it would be very surprising to see them use all of those picks without making some sort of trade up. Brandon Beane has shown that he is willing to take a swing, whether it ends up as a hit or a miss. The thrill of seeing the Bills trade up is fantastic, but it all depends on how the production is later on from the player.
The Bills are sitting at No. 30 right now and they will be seeing a lot of top quality talent go off the board before they even have the chance to make a reasonable trade to possibly move up. Once the draft gets into the 20s, Bills fans should be on watch of a potential move involving Buffalo.
The Minnesota Vikings are a team that should strongly consider trading down due to the fact that they only have four picks right now. They are six spots ahead of the Bills at No. 24, which is more than reasonable for the Bills to make a move for that pick.
NFL Draft analyst urges Bills to make Round 1 trade with Vikings
NFL Draft analyst Chad Reuter from NFL.com listed the Bills as a team that could make a Round 1 trade and Reuter listed the Vikings as the team the Bills should call to move up.
"Sending some Day 3 selections to the Minnesota Vikings, who currently have just four draft picks, to ascend from No. 30 to the 24th spot would give general manager Brandon Beane a chance to potentially select a safety like Nick Emmanwori or Malaki Starks, an explosive defensive tackle like Walter Nolen or Derrick Harmon, or edge rusher Mike Green, who could take over for the released Von Miller."Chad Reuter, NFL.com
The Bills need help on defense, specifically at cornerback and defensive tackle. If they can get someone like Kenneth Grant, Walter Nolen, Trey Amos, or even Will Johnson, it would be smart of them to make a move to move up to solidify a weakness that they have.
