When the Buffalo Bills decided to make the biggest splash in 2022 with the signing of a Hall of Fame bound player in Von Miller, that was supposed to be the move that put the Bills over top and win their first Lombard trophy in franchise history. Instead, it was just another big swing-and-miss.

However, no one could have predicted that Miller would have torn his ACL on Thanksgiving in 2022 and that would be the downfall of his tenure in Buffalo. While he performed decently in 2024, the Bills were destined to release him due to financial reasons.

The Bill extended Greg Rousseau to a four-year deal, signed Joey Bosa in free agency, and drafted Landon Jackson in the third round of the NFL Draft. If there was a way for Miller to return before, it’s definitely out the door now.

While the Bills are moving on with their roster, Miller still remains unsigned. At 36 years old, Miller may have one more season left in the tank before he calls it quits. He’s accomplished a lot in his career, which includes winning two Super Bowls with two different teams. Maybe he’s looking to get a third one.

Von Miller suggested to sign with NFC Super Bowl contender

There are different paths that Miller could take. If he’s looking to continue to play, it would make the most sense to join a true championship contender like the Chiefs, Lions, or Ravens. Maybe even have a reunion with the Denver Broncos where he solidified his Hall of Fame career. However, Cody Benjamin from CBS Sports insists that Miller should sign with the defending Super Bowl champs, the Philadelphia Eagles.

"Still unsigned despite ranking in the top 20 among the NFL's all-time sack leaders, Miller would be a short-term rental at 36. And the reigning champions added pass rushing juice with Jihaad Campbell. Still, Miller thrived while working under Vic Fangio years ago. And you can never have too many quarterback chasers."

Honestly, this move shouldn’t shock anyone. The Bills have moved on and Miller should as well if he decides to keep playing. Now you might be thinking, why does this matter? Well, it matters because the Bills and the Eagles are set to face off in 2025 in Orchard Park. While it wouldn’t be the biggest revenge game, it would be an anticipated game to watch for Bills fans.

The player that was supposed to be the difference-maker for the Bills and help them capture their first Super Bowl ended up being a disappointment.
