Despite the Buffalo Bills being one of the powerhouses of the NFL, a major reason why they are at that level is because of the presence of Josh Allen. Without him, the Bills wouldn’t be as successful as they currently are. Even though they do have some solid playmakers, Bills fans know that Allen is the one that keeps things going as smoothly as possible.
No one can deny the fact that the Bills made some great additions this offseason despite all of the changes that they went through. Supporting Josh Allen had to become the top priority of the team. After winning the MVP award in 2024 and carrying the team through the season and into the playoffs last season, Allen deserved to see the Bills bring in some help.
Even though Buffalo made some great additions on both sides of the ball, the reality is that they still have a tough schedule that features some of the best players that could put together a case as to why they would be the MVP of the league.
Bills truly how tough 2026 schedule is after latest MVP rankings
Sayre Bedinger from NFL Spin Zone recently created a power rankings list of the Top 10 MVP candidates heading into training camp. At the very top of the list was none other than Allen, which Bills fans should love.
However, there are six other quarterbacks listed below that Bedinger listed, which shows the tough outing the Bills have in 2026:
QB Bo Nix - Denver Broncos (No. 10 on MVP rankings)
QB Patrick Mahomes - Kansas City Chiefs (No. 7 on MVP rankings)
QB Drake Maye - New England Patriots (No. 6 on MVP rankings)
QB Caleb Williams - Chicago Bears (No. 5 on MVP rankings)
QB Matthew Stafford - Los Angeles Rams (No. 3 on MVP rankings)
QB Lamar Jackson - Baltimore Ravens (No. 2 on MVP rankings)
While other teams will have to fear Josh Allen and the Bills, Buffalo can’t ignore the top-tier talent that they will have to face. All but two of these quarterbacks were in the playoffs last season. Patrick Mahomes had torn his ACL in December, and Lamar Jackson led the Ravens to an-almost great comeback in Week 18 against the Steelers, but a missed field goal caused Baltimore to miss the playoffs.
Bo Nix eliminated the Bills in the playoffs last season. Drake Maye walked into Buffalo on a Sunday Night matchup and completely silenced Orchard Park early on in the season. Caleb Williams broke out in his first year under Ben Johnson. Then you have the defending MVP in Matthew Stafford who will always be dangerous with Sean McVay.
Even though the Bills have Allen which is sometimes enough to pick up a lot of wins, the Bills are in for a tough schedule against some of the best players who could be in the MVP race throughout the season.
