With kickoff being four hours away, the Buffalo Bills will be looking to win their 4th consecutive game to move to 11-4. After last week’s comeback win against the New England Patriots, the Bills are still very much in the AFC East race.
There is a good chance that the Bills will clinch a playoff spot this week. They would need to win or tie the Browns, and then have either the Colts or Texans lose their respective matchups. As far as the AFC East, neither the Bills or Patriots can clinch the division this week.
Buffalo is entering a bit of a trap game considering where both they and the Browns are at this point in the season. However, the Bills have the better team and they know that they can’t allow Cleveland to make this a true game all the way through the 4th quarter.
Sure, Myles Garrett will most likely tie or break the all-time season sack record, but that should be the only “win” the Browns get today against Buffalo.
Multiple Bills have chance to make franchise history vs. Browns
According to the Buffalo Bills’ PR team, there are two Bills players who can make some kind of franchise history against Cleveland.
First, if James Cook can rush for 89 yards he will move into third place in team history for the most rushing yards in a single season and mark the most yards by a Bill since 1975. He currently has 1,415 yards on the season and going up against Cleveland’s defense that hasn’t been great against the run recently, Cook has a fantastic shot at having major success today.
Secondly, Christian Benford is set to make his return to the field after missing last week’s game against the Patriots. Three weeks ago against Pittsburgh, Benford had a fumble recovery for a touchdown and then the following week, he picked off Joe Burrow for an interception and returned it for a touchdown.
If Benford can somehow get into the endzone once again for the Bills, Benford will become the first player with a defensive touchdown in three straight games played since 1994 when Vikings’ cornerback Anthony Parker accomplished that.
Benford has been electric for the Bills in the second half of the season and he has become Buffalo’s best player on defense. He’s proving that the Bills made the right decision to extend him last offseason.
Kickoff from Cleveland is set for 1PM and fans won’t want to miss this game.
