While the Buffalo Bills are hoping to move to 8-2 in Week 10, one of their former players has potentially made them look foolish. Roughly a month ago, the Bills released Marquez Valdes-Scantling and he went on to sign with the New Orleans Saints.
Well, with the Saints' season on life support and few receivers for Derek Carr to throw to, MVS has put together one of the best games of his career (at least in recent memory). The former Chiefs and Bills receiver found the end zone twice in the first quarter and had over 100 receiving yards. It's something that definitely made Bills fans wonder why he couldn't put together those performances in Buffalo.
Valdes-Scantling had just two catches for 26 yards in six games with the Bills before they made the decision to cut ties and move on. It wasn't an unpopular decision either considering MVS didn't look to have much in the tank during his short time in Buffalo.
Bills might have made a mistake cutting Marquez Valdes-Scantling
While MVS is thriving with a different (and albeit, a bad team), the Bills have managed without him. They're 7-2 on the year and Josh Allen is a leading MVP candidate. The Bills also traded for Amari Cooper before the deadline to help their offense be the best possible unit it could be but he hasn't made much of a splash yet.
The hope here is that MVS doesn't continue on this trajectory because if he does and the Bills' offensive weapons continue not to make much of an impression, this could be something that the team looks back on with regret. The silver lining here is that at least Chiefs fans are also looking at Valdes-Scantling's performance and shaking their fists with anger so at least that's something.
