After the New York Jets made the obvious move to trade for wide receiver Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders, the Buffalo Bills followed up with a move of their own by acquiring wide receiver Amari Cooper from the Cleveland Browns.

This trade comes a day after the Bills defeated the Jets at MetLife on Monday night and it gives the Bills’ offense an immediate boost. Josh Allen had been lacking a true number one receiver ever since Stefon Diggs was traded to the Houston Texans back in April. Now Cooper will come to Buffalo and serve as Allen’s true number one target.

Seeing this kind of trade shows that Brandon Beane knew there was a weakness at the position and he addressed it nicely by getting the solid veteran. Cooper has been held back with the Browns because of the poor quarterback play by Deshaun Watson. With the Browns making this move, it looks like they are ready to throw in the towel for the season. On the other side, the Bills are loading up for down the stretch to get to the playoffs.

According to Josina Anderson, Cooper talked about how he has always been a fan of Allen’s game and how he is ready to move on from his chapter in Cleveland and help contribute with the Bills.

Having the newly acquired receiver already highlighting his new quarterback is a great sign for Bills Mafia. There is nothing better than seeing Cooper get excited to get out of Cleveland and head east to Buffalo.

Going from Watson to Allen is a massive upgrade, especially with Cooper starting to approach the backside of his career. He has not had much success since being traded from the Dallas Cowboys to the Browns. Now he gets to enter a situation where he is the clear-cut number one target and gets a top five quarterback throwing him the ball.
