Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman is entering his third season in the NFL, and everyone knows the pressure is on. The 2024 second-round pick entered the league with high expectations, but he has underwhelmed in his first two seasons in Buffalo.
While general manager Brandon Beane and new head coach Joe Brady have expressed their commitment to the young receiver, the NFL world believes that Coleman is a player who could be traded this year. That was evident in a recent ESPN piece where NFL insiders made hypothetical trade offers for four players who could be on the move this year.
Coleman was one of the listed players, and his expected value was revealed through four hypothetical trades. While the teams were different, the value was the same, with Coleman being moved for a fifth-round pick in either 2027 or 2028.
Keon Coleman believed to be worth a fifth-round pick in possible trade
The four teams in the hypothetical trades were the Baltimore Ravens, Washington Commanders, Las Vegas Raiders, and Atlanta Falcons. In two of the trades, the wideout was traded straight up for a fifth-round pick. In another, Buffalo had to send a 2028 seventh-round pick to get the fifth-round pick. In the lone hypothetical where the Bills received a 2027 fourth-round pick, Buffalo had to send a 2028 sixth-round pick, along with Coleman.
That shows that the third-year receiver’s value is a mid-round pick. With that in mind, Bills reporter Alaina Getzenberg doesn’t think Coleman will be moved. Getzenberg acknowledges that Buffalo could be intrigued if they receive offers, but is ultimately taking the team at its word that they want to see what Coleman can do this season.
The receiver is well aware of his reputation, and that everything is on the line for him this season. Coleman isn’t hiding from that reality, and he’s preparing to finally deliver. Ultimately, his words aren’t going to get it done, though, and he knows that.
The production has to happen on the field. As a rookie, Coleman caught 29 passes for 556 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games. In year two, he also played in 13 games, posting 38 receptions for 404 yards and four touchdowns.
In 2026, Coleman needs to execute on the field, and take care of business off of it, or his time with the Bills could be ending.
