All eyes are going to be on Keon Coleman throughout the summer and leading into the 2026 season. Going into this third season with the Buffalo Bills, Coleman has been a disappointment so far and Bills fans have been frustrated. Despite dealing with an injury in the middle of his rookie season, Coleman showed flashes of being a quality reciever as he posted 556 yards and 4 touchdowns.

However, last season was a nightmare for Coleman. While he did have the same amount of touchdowns, he just reached over 400 yards and was listed as a healthy scratch for a handful of games due to maturity issues.

With still having Joe Brady on the coaching staff, there is belief that Coleman can turn things around for the better as heads into a crucial year. With Buffalo trading for DJ Moore and drafting Skyler Bell, Coleman has to prove that he is worth keeping on the roster in both 2026 and moving forward.

The good news is that Coleman seems to be impressing early on in OTAs, but we all know that all that matters is what happens in the regular season and the playoffs.

Keon Coleman shines early on in OTAs (but it's going to take more to truly impress)

Matt Parrino from Syracuse.com posted a video from the Bills’ OTA workouts, focused on Coleman, who Parrino said “was all business during the Bills’ first OTA practices.

Later in practice he made one of the best plays of the day when he went up high for a Josh Allen pass and hauled it in between Max Hairston and Kaleb Elarms-Orr in coverage” Parrino added.

It’s only May, it’s only OTAs, anything can happen from now until the start of the season. Coleman is going to need to do a lot more than just have one great play in May. Then again, seeing him make a play like this shows what he can do for the Bills’ offense.

When the Bills drafted Coleman, the hope was that he could become Josh Allen’s new No.1 receiver but that doesn’t look like that will be the case. If that is indeed true, then Coleman will need to prove to the coaching staff what his skillset can bring to the offense in order to elevate it.

With him being the type of receiver where he can go up and grab those 50/50 catches, it will be important for him to show off that skill in order to impress the coaches and the fans. With Parrino saying that Coleman made one of the best plays of the day, it gives encouragement that more production will be coming from Coleman. Again though, it’s only May and there is plenty to still prove.
