When the Buffalo Bills drafted rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman, they acquired a bright personality who has a goofy, yet fantastic presence. The Bills needed to draft a wideout back in April, the question was just which one it would be. Getting a guy like Coleman provided the Bills a different kind of receiver that Buffalo isn’t used to having.

Coleman provides great size and length who can win contested throws. However, he has had a little bit of a quiet start to the season. So far, his big highlight of the season up to this point has been his 49-yard touchdown reception on a fourth down against the Houston Texans.

Coleman no longer has to step up and try to make the big play as a rookie, now that the Bills have traded for wideout Amari Cooper from the Cleveland Browns. Despite getting back in the win column in Week 6, Brandon Beane still opted to keep building up the roster with the acquisition of Cooper.

Getting Cooper out of Cleveland and into Buffalo couldn’t be anymore perfect for him. Going from Deshaun Watson to Josh Allen is the best possible upgrade for Cooper. His presence as a fantastic route runner and receiver who can beat man coverage should highly elevate the Bills’ offense.

On Thursday, Coleman was able to provide a little bit of insight of what the addition of Cooper brings to the Bills’ offense, per Andy Young:

Having the rookie speak like this about the new guy in town shows the respect that Coleman has for Cooper. He’s right, Cooper will provide a different skill set that the Bills have not had early this season. Depending on how Joe Brady decides to utilize Cooper, it will either make Cooper the focal point in the passing attack, or it will open up more of the field for guys like Coleman, Khalil Shakir, and Dalton Kincaid.

We will need to be on the lookout to see if Cooper’s presence will make its way onto the field this Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. It wouldn’t be shocking to see him suit up for Buffalo, but it may only be for a limited amount of time since he will only have been apart of the Bills for no more than a week at that point.
