Last night’s game between the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins was closer than Bills fans had expected, but the Bills got the 10-point win and are now 3-0 with extra rest before their next game in Week 4 against the New Orleans Saints. Josh Allen, as always, looked great against Miami’s defense. He completed 78% of his throws for 213 yards and 3 touchdowns.
However, the Bills’ defense was a bit average. They weren’t as bad as they were in Week 1, but they were nowhere near dominant like they were against the Jets. Despite holding the Dolphins to 21 points, we had a tied ball game in the 4th quarter and things were getting a little worrisome for the Bills.
At one point, the Bills were set to give the ball back to Miami tied at 21 but a roughing the punter penalty on Miami gave Buffalo a huge break and set up a Josh Allen-to-Khalil Shakir touchdown to put the Bills up 28-21. The Dolphins were looking to make a comeback and while they got close, linebacker Terrel Bernard crushed that dream with a late 4th quarter interception.

After the Bills sealed a 31-21 victory, Josh Allen gave huge praise to Bernard in the post-game show:
"“Terell Bernard stepped up in a big moment in the game. He’s a captain for a reason. He showed up tonight.” -Josh Allen on Terell Bernard during TNF postgame show"Josh Allen

While the defense didn’t look horrible, they allowed the Dolphins to stay in the game and it came down to the near end for them to make a big play. Since taking over the starting linebacker position in 2023, Bernard has become a franchise player for the Bills and has earned the respect of his coaches and teammates.
To be the only captain next to Josh Allen is quite the accomplishment, which speaks to his leadership that he provides.
