We are approaching Monday Night Football that will wrap up Week 5 out in LA where the Rams will host the Buffalo Bills. While the Rams are looking to break a lose-win-lose-win streak they have going on, the Bills are looking to get a win after dropping their first loss of the season against the New England Patriots.
While the Bills need a lot of stepping up from multiple players, we all know that most Bills wins come down to Josh Allen and how he performs. Even though the Bills have playmakers like James Cook and Dalton Kincaid, it's Allen that is the biggest difference maker for the Bills.
He's the best player in the league and he can go off at any moment. Once he gets going, he becomes nearly impossible to stop. Going into tonight's game, I'm predicting that Allen doesn't just bounce back against the Rams, but he puts on an MVP-caliber performance.
Josh Allen's history against Rams sets him up for Week 5 success
In 2020, the Bills defeated the Rams, 35-32. It was a game where Allen connected with tight end Tyler Kroft for the game-winning touchdown with 15 seconds left in regulation. Allen finished the game with 5 total touchdowns and 311 passing yards.
In the 2022 season opener out in LA where the Rams were the defending Super Bowl champs, the Bills walked into Inglewood and completely dominated the Rams, 31-10. In that game, Allen had 297 yards through the air along with 4 total touchdowns. He also led the Bills in rushing with 56 yards.
Then just two seasons ago in 2024, the Bills and Rams competed in what was essentially the game of the year. While the Rams managed to get the 44-42 win over the Bills, Allen finished with over 400 total yards himself along with 6 total touchdowns. What's even more unbelievable is that Allen didn't have a single turnover in that game.
Two out of these three matchups show that these teams are bound to light up the scoreboard, and tonight's game could be another chapter, with Allen playing lights-out football for the Bills.
Predicting Josh Allen's Week 5 stats against Rams
In the first two weeks of the season, Allen was playing like the MVP of the league. Then in the last two games, Allen has played not-so-great. With a little bit of extra time to rest and prepare for the Rams, this feels like a great opportunity for Allen to step onto the field and dominate the Rams. Now, he may shine and put up huge numbers, but he's going to need his defense to step up and make a crucial play against a high-scoring Rams offense.
Either way, I've got Allen going wild tonight and putting himself back in the MVP conversation.
