There was never a time where one team pulled well ahead of the other in this game. It was a back-and-forth battle between the Buffalo Bills and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In what is definitely a “Game of the Year” candidate type of matchup, the Bills pulled out a huge and must-win victory over the Bucs, 44-32.
Josh Allen is single handedly the reason why the Bills not only won, but why they put up over 40 points on this Tampa defense. Aside from his Week 1 4th quarter performance against the Ravens, he hasn’t had that major breakout game that he typically has early on. Well, that changed in this game.
Josh Allen puts himself back in MVP conversation after phenomenal game vs. Bucs
Allen put up six total touchdowns (3 in the air and 3 on the ground) and just under 360 total yards against this Tampa defense that loves to blitz. His two interceptions he had early on the game don’t even matter at this point because of how he was able to overcome them.
According to the Buffalo Bills’ PR X team, Allen is the first player in NFL history with 3+ rushing and 3+ passing touchdowns in multiple career games. He put up these numbers last season against the Rams, but the Bills lost 44-42.
In addition, Allen has also tied Cam Newton for the most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback all-time in the regular season (75).

One thing that really stood out about Allen in this win is that he was launching the ball down the field more than he has this entire season. He was going deep to Mecole Hardman and Tyrell Shavers, which was great to see, which put Tampa's defense on notice as the game went on.
This is the type of performance that Bills fans were waiting for all season long and it came against a hungry Tampa team that is one of the best in the NFC and coming off a tough loss last week. The Bills move to 7-3 on the season and will need to limit the celebration as they will be playing this coming Thursday night in Houston.
