No NFL player has more pressure this weekend than Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen. Maybe you think it’s Lamar Jackson, Jared Goff, Jalen Hurts, or even Matthew Stafford. However, none of them are facing pressure like Allen is.
Ever since Allen established himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the league, he has been placed in the top-tier year in and year out. One year he’s going back and forth with Patrick Mahomes. This year it’s between him and Lamar Jackson. He’s even been compared to Joe Burrow and people have debated who is better between the two of them.
Now obviously, Burrow isn’t in the playoffs and the other three top quarterbacks will play this weekend. While Mahomes and the Chiefs will take on C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans, Allen and the Bills will welcome Jackson and the Ravens.
Josh Allen has the most pressure out of everyone in divisional round
For the last three seasons, the Bills have had their hearts broken in the divisional round. Getting bounced in the divisional round is starting to become a regular thing. It’s quite concerning considering who Buffalo has at quarterback.
The Bills have lost at the hands of Patrick Mahomes twice (once at home) and Joe Burrow (at home). If Lamar Jackson and the Ravens walk into Buffalo and beat the Bills, Allen will have lost to all three of these quarterbacks in the same round in Orchard Park.
It would be very embarrassing and it could really start to question whether or not Allen is a great playoff quarterback. I get it, he plays phenomenal football in the playoffs, but the ultimate result is always the same; a disappointing loss. Bills fans have had enough. The regular season success is no longer the important factor. It’s about making a run in the playoffs and Buffalo has failed every single season since 2020.
The narratives would start to come out that Allen can’t win in the playoffs at home. That he can’t beat the other top tier quarterbacks when it matters the most. In order to avoid those narratives, Allen needs to flat out dominate the Ravens and prove that he and the Bills are the team to beat in the AFC.
