At this point in the season, a win is a win and that’s what the Buffalo Bills should be focusing on. They head into a huge AFC East matchup against the New England Patriots, who could win the division if they beat Buffalo. The Bills have owned the division since 2020 and now they could literally have it taken from them by the Pats.
Throughout this season, the Bills have faced a ton of inconsistency as a team overall. Sometimes the offense lets them down, and others are on the defense. One common theme about the Bills is that when Josh Allen puts the team on his back, the Bills are almost impossible to stop.
In different games this season, Allen has carried the Bills in crucial moments to bring the “W” back to Buffalo. While Buffalo’s defense did help against Cincinnati, Allen kept the Bills in the game which included a 40-yard rushing touchdown.
Against Tampa Bay, Allen put up six total touchdowns which marked the second time in his career doing so. Then in Week 1 against the Ravens, Allen had over 400 total yards and 4 total touchdowns. In all three of those games, the Bills went 3-0.
See the common theme? At this point, the Bills need to just let Allen be Allen. If he can put on his magic against New England today, not only will the Bills have a great chance at winning but Allen will also be lined up to set some NFL history in enemy territory.
Josh Allen has great chance to make NFL history (once again) vs. Patriots
According to the Buffalo Bills’ PR team, Allen can become the fastest player to reach the 300 total touchdown mark, and the only one to ever to make it before turning 30, if he can score four touchdowns against New England.
Mind you, this will be Allen’s 125th career game and he has the chance to accomplish this early on in his career. Currently, the fastest player to reach 300 total touchdowns in a career is Aaron Rodgers, who played 134 games before doing so. That just shows you the impact that Allen has with the Bills.
Without him, the team doesn’t go far. While fans want to see great balanced football, the main priority is to just win and if that means letting Allen take over, then so be it.
