Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is at the point in his career where he has the chance to re-write the history books, whether it is for the franchise of the Bills or even in the NFL overall. The dynamic superstar has been competing at a high-level since 2020 and has been consistently near the top of the league along with players like Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson.
Through nine games, Allen has 20 total touchdowns to just two interceptions. It’s the complete opposite of what he has done in the past. After throwing 18 interceptions last season, he has turned it around for the better and it’s a factor as to why the Bills are 7-2. As a matter of fact, Allen’s first interception didn’t take place until Week 8 against the Seattle Seahawks. In addition, his one interception last week against Miami was not on him. Instead, it was Keon Coleman who let the ball go through who his hands and it landed in Jalen Ramsey’s hands for the easy takeaway.
Going into Week 10 against the Indianapolis Colts, not only are the Bills looking to improve to 8-2, but Allen has the chance to make franchise history and pass Jim Kelly for the most total touchdowns in Bills history. As it stands, Kelly finished his season with 244 total touchdowns, while Allen is at 241, per the Buffalo Bills PR X account. It’s not a matter of if Allen passes Kelly, it’s just a matter of when. This week against the Colts could be the game that he does it.
Josh Allen continues to rise in history rankings
Allen has the chance to establish himself as the best quarterback in the history of the Buffalo Bills. There is no doubt that he is arguably the most talented quarterback the Bills have ever had, but he still has yet to get the Bills to a Super Bowl.
Jim Kelly was the leader for the Bills that helped get them to four consecutive Super Bowls. However, his Bills could never get the job done in the biggest game. If Allen is able to pull of the accomplishment of delivering Buffalo their first ever franchise Super Bowl, he would be considered the best quarterback in Bills history without a doubt.
