The Buffalo Bills are headed to the Divisional round, after picking up a hard-fought Wild Card win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Sunday afternoon game came down to the last few plays, but Buffalo emerged victorious 27-24. The Jaguars gave the Bills all they could handle, and it will certainly be a game that Josh Allen’s body remembers.

The star quarterback was battered all throughout the especially physical playoff game, and while he ultimately helped the team win, fans were still concerned about Allen’s health moving forward. Following the win, the veteran quarterback told Buffalo fans exactly what they want to hear: “We’re good.”

Josh Allen downplays injuries after Bills’ playoff win over Jaguars

Allen had three separate moments that made Buffalo fans hold their breath. The quarterback had his legs rolled up on two separate times, resulting in him wincing and grabbing his leg, and he also hit his throwing hand on a helmet, which led to him shaking his hand throughout the game. Those three moments came in addition to several other hits that the quarterback will surely feel as he prepares for the next round of the playoffs.

Bills fans certainly aren’t surprised to see Allen downplaying potential injuries, because that’s what he has done throughout his entire career. The quarterback doesn’t shy away from contact, and that often leaves him dealing with injuries. However, those injuries are typically discussed by everyone but Allen. That has been the case this season, and it is already continuing into the playoffs.

Clearly, Allen’s performance wasn’t affected by what his body was going through, because he finished the game with 28 completions on 35 pass attempts for 273 yards and one touchdown, while adding 33 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries. Allen will weather any storm to stay on the field and keep fighting, and the Bills have guaranteed that he’ll be doing that for at least one more week.

Buffalo is advancing to its sixth straight Divisional round, and hoping to get to a second straight AFC Championship game. It’s unclear who the Bills will be playing next, but unless the Los Angeles Chargers upset the New England Patriots, the Bills will likely be headed to face the Denver Broncos. Whatever the path, Josh Allen is hoping to lead Buffalo to his first Super Bowl appearance and win.
