The last memory that Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills had of the 2025 season was seeing the Denver Broncos kick a game-winning field goal in overtime to end the Bills’ season. The Bills came back to force overtime and they had a chance to win, but a controversial interception was the deciding factor on the Bills going home early.

The Broncos went on to win 33-30 and while Denver was getting prepared for the AFC Championship game, the Bills made a major change with firing Sean McDermott. Since then, they have promoted Joe Brady to head coach, brought in a new coaching staff, and revamped the roster a bit.

The Bills and Broncos already knew that they were going to be facing each other in 2026, they just didn’t know the date until now. Josh Allen finally gets to see when he can seek revenge on the team that knocked him out of the playoffs last season.

Bills vs. Broncos 2026 matchup is officially all set

According to Jordan Schultz, the Bills and the Broncos will be facing off against each other on Christmas Day in Week 16. Josh Allen will now get the chance to get revenge on the Broncos on Christmas in Denver.

Again, Denver is the team that will always be known as the ones that sparked the change for the Bills and moving into the Joe Brady era. With Josh Allen under center, the Bills have had success against the Broncos but this last playoff loss is the biggest game that stands out. With the back-and-forth scoring, controversial calls (and miscalls), there was so much that happened. However, Denver ended up getting the last laugh.

Since the Broncos did beat the Bills, some people may think that Denver is now ahead of Buffalo in the AFC. That’s just simply not true. At the end of the day, Josh Allen had a bad game with four turnovers, yet the Bills still put up 30 points on offense.

With a revamped offense and better weapons around him, Allen will have the chance to thrive against Denver’s defense, who lost Jim Leonhard from their coaching staff as he will now be calling the plays on defense for the Bills.
