Last year was the first season since 2020 where the Buffalo Bills didn’t have a true No. 1 wideout on the offense. It was Stefon Diggs, but once the Bills started winning without him being a true contributor, along with the tension that was happening between Diggs and the Bills, the writing was on the wall about his future in Buffalo.
Last season, the Bills’ offense was dynamic for the most part because of the “everybody eats” offense that Joe Brady implemented. While it worked for one season, these last couple of games that the Bills have played this season have shown that not having a true No. 1 WR can hurt them.
This season, the Bills have not thrown the ball down the field as much as they used to. In fact, they don’t have anyone that can stretch the field and get guys open. While they have tried to fix the wide receiver position through the draft and free agency, the Bills are still lacking that dynamic playmaker.
It makes you wonder that if the Bills’ wideouts continue to struggle with separation and getting open, maybe Brandon Beane will have to draft some early wide receiver help in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Bills draft big playmaker for Josh Allen in NFL mock draft
Tarringo Basile-Vaughan from NFL Mocks recently put together a 2026 NFL mock draft and late in the first round, the Bills drafted Tennessee wide receiver Chris Brazzell II.
"The Bills get Josh Allen another wide receiver with the selection of Chris Brazzell II. The Tennessee star has been one of the top wide receivers in the nation with 31 receptions for 531 yards and 7 touchdowns. His 6-foot-5, 200-pound frame makes him another big-bodied receiver with speed Allen will see as a luxury in the Bills’ offense."Tarringo Basile-Vaughan, NFL Mocks
He’s a big wideout who is currently averaging 16.8 yards per reception and has three games with 100+ receiving yards. His best game this season so far took place against Georgia where he had 6 catches for 177 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Outside of this past week’s performance against Arkansas, Brazzell has had no less than 5 receptions in a game for the Volunteers. He’s trusted to make a play and he’s been delivering for Tennessee this season. At 6-foot-5 with creating this kind of production, Brazzell would be a huge steal for the Bills late in the first round, should they go the wide receiver route.
