The Buffalo Bills look like a completely different football team than they have the last two games. In the past two weeks, Buffalo’s offense has looked weak and out of sync. That doesn’t seem to be the case this week against the New York Jets.
After the Jets went up 3-0, the Bills ran the ball down the field which resulted in a Josh Allen rushing touchdown at the goaline to put the Bills up 7-0. After that, it was a little bit of a defensive battle before the Jets took a 10-7 lead to end the first quarter. Then the Bills were clicking on all cylinders on offense and defense.
Over halfway through the second quarter, Allen connected with wideout Mack Hollins on an 8-yard touchdown pass to take the lead. Then after the Bills defense sacked Aaron Rodgers on back-to-back plays and forced a punt, the Bills drove it down the field once again late in the first half and Allen connected with an old friend in Dawson Knox for a 12-yard touchdown pass.
Josh Allen’s three touchdowns has him climbing the history ladder
Allen’s one rushing and two passing touchdowns in the first half makes it his 21st game with 2+ passing touchdowns and 1+ rushing touchdown, where he now only trails Cam Newton (who has 22 games with that same statline), per the Buffalo Bills PR X account.
It seems like each week, Allen is either climbing the history rankings and/or making history. He has made some ridiculous plays in this game, including a 42-yard pass to Ray Davis from the sideline inside his own redzone. Not to mention, when he starts getting into the endzone, he almost becomes unstoppable.
It was a solid first half by the Bills, but their momentum went down the drain when Aaron Rodgers completed a hail mary pass for a touchdown to Allen Lazard to bring the Jets within three points going into the second half. It looks like this game is going to go back-and-forth so the Bills need to make sure they are staying in-sync in order to leave Monday Night Football with a win.
