The most notable free agent that remains unsigned is wide receiver Stefon Diggs. While he has been in the news for off-the-field matters this offseason, he is set up to sign with a team eventually. After having a bounce back season with the New England Patriots last year, after tearing his ACL in 2024 with the Texans, Diggs showed that he can still play at a high level.

Diggs’ best years up to this point were when he was a member of the Buffalo Bills from 2020-2023. He had no less than 1,100+ yards and scored atleast 8 touchdowns in each season as well. However, with the change in offensive philosophy in the middle of the 2023 season (when Joe Brady took over as the interim offensive coordinator), the Bills were winning games without Diggs’ services. With that, Buffalo ended up trading him to the Texans.

Since trading Diggs away, the Bills have had a problem with their wide receiver room. Now that they have added players like DJ Moore and Skyler Bell, fans are hoping that they will be a better supporting cast in Joe Brady’s first season as the head coach. However, would there be a world where the Bills and Diggs reunite with Brady in charge? Some fans may think so, some may not.

Joe Brady gives confidence about current WR room even with Stefon Diggs being available

Matt Parrino from Syracuse.com sat down with Brady for an interview and Parrino asked Brady about the idea of a potential reunion with Diggs. Brady’s answer seemed to focus more on the confidence that he has currently on the roster.

Stef had so much success here. Right, like, he helped build the position that I’m walking in…with that said, and I love the way he plays, but I have so much confidence in this room right now. I love where these guys are at.” said Brady.

It is never ending with Beane. They are always looking to find ways to improve our roster. The additions we have with Skyler and DJ, and the growth of Josh and Keon and getting these other guys, I have so much confidence in them and I’m excited about it. Whoever we add to the room is only ever going to make it better, but I love where we are at.” Brady added.

It sure does sound like Brady is all set with the wide receiver room, even though Diggs is available. Diggs would definitely upgrade the overall depth at the position, but it was a bit of a messy ending between the Bills and Diggs. Again, Brady took over as the offensive coordinator in Diggs’ last season with the Bills.

When Brady took over the play calling, Diggs had no more than 87 yards in a game and he only had one touchdown. Once Buffalo figured out they could win without him, it was done and over with. A reunion between the Bills and Diggs would have fans talking nonstop leading up to the season, but it seems like the new head coach is perfectly fine with who he has.
