The defense as a whole for the Buffalo Bills has been nearly atrocious this season so far. While they have managed to clean up their run-defense (only allowing 108.2 yards per game so far), their pass-defense has become the weakness by a mile.
They are allowing 280 yards through the air per game this season, which ranks as the 31st unit only ahead of the Detroit Lions who have been missing a lot of their secondary pieces due to injury.
Long story short, the secondary has been lost a lot this season, so it's easy to blame them. At the same time, the guys in front of them in the linebacker room have done nothing spectacular to help out this defense, both against the pass and the run.
Bills' LB room is weakest link through 5 games
They can't cover well in the middle of the field, they are overpursuing on tackles, things just aren't clicking for this group. Terrel Bernard has arguably been their weakest player on the entire unit.
Head coach Joe Brady spoke with the media on Wednesday, and he doubled down on that he has no problem with the way that the Bills' linebackers have been playing, per Thad Brown of WROC-TV.
Infact, Brady had said that he would like to see rookie Kaleb Elarms-Orr play more, but that it doesn't say anything about Bernard or Dorian Williams.
Joe Brady continues to say he has no problem with play of #Bills LBs.

He likes having Shaq Thompson in house, but does not give any indication he's even being considered as an option.
"Would love for Kaleb to play more... but that's no indictment on TB or Dorian."
Joe Brady seems to be avoiding the harsh truth about Bills' LBs
The NFL trade deadline is not that far away, and if I'm the Bills, you have to strongly consider improving the defense in some capacity. It wouldn't be a surprise to see a move to add a linebacker to help improve this unit. Maybe trading for someone like Zach Baun from the Philadelphia Eagles, or perhaps Mack Wilson of the Arizona Cardinals would improve this unit.
Each player brings a skillset that the Bills currently lack at linebacker. With both the Eagles and Cardinals looking terrible so far this season, maybe their GMs will decide to make moves to add assets for their current players. The Bills could benefit greatly from adding one of these veterans.
Either way, if this group can't fix their mistakes going into Week 6 and heading into the bye week, you would have to think that Brandon Beane would be calling around to see what the market would be to bring in some linebacker help.
