Joe Brady is off to a fast start in his head coaching career for the Buffalo Bills. He became the first head coach in franchise history to win his first two games and he did against two teams in the Texans and Lions that each have their own powerhouse units. Let's not forget, Brady is also still calling the plays for the offense and he has had the offense scoring 36+ points in the last two games.

He hasn't missed a beat at this point, and Bills fans should be extremely impressed with how he has been so far early on. It also helps that Brady hasn't had to deal with many player injuries like the Bills have had to do in years prior. However, the Bills still have injuries that they are dealing with.

Bills were hit with two key injuries in Week 2

Even before the game against the Lions, defensive tackle Ed Oliver suffered a hip injury during warm-ups and the Bills ultimately ruled him out because it happened so close by the time that the inactives had to be reported.

Then during the first half, the Bills lost DJ Moore to a shoulder injury that kept him out the remainder of the game. Fans were concerned on what the injury could have been because of how Moore landed on his shoulder, but it appears that the injury is not long-term.

Before the season officially started in Week 1, the Bills were dealing with injuries to two key players in RB Ty Johnson and DT T.J. Sanders. Johnson was dealing with a hamstring injury and Sanders has been dealing with an injury to his knee. Both of them have yet to play a down for the Bills through the first two games, but they came close to suiting up against the Lions.

Key depth may be coming back for Bills ahead of Week 3

According to Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic, Joe Brady told the media that both Johnson and Sanders "were close to getting the green light to play on Thursday vs. the Lions." said Buscaglia. They were both questionable going into the game, but the Bills decided to hold them out for the game.

It sounds like the Bills should be gaining some depth back on both sides of the ball which is great to hear. Johnson is a key third-down back that helps the Bills with pass protection and picking up those tough 2-3 yards in critical moments. Having him back with James Cook will surely open up the playbook.

Sanders had a decent camp this summer and he will get the chance to be part of the rotation on the defensive line once he comes back. Maybe he will join Greg Rousseau in terms of being a great fit for this defense and become a rising star, you never know.

While the injuries to Oliver and Moore are obviously the big factors to pay attention to, it's great to see that the depth that Buffalo hasn't had could be back for when they host the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 3.
