The Buffalo Bills are set to host the Detroit Lions to kick off Week 2 of the NFL season, but this game is going to be a special one. It’s not just the home opener for the Bills, but it’s the official opening of the new Highmark Stadium that has been in the works for years. Now, it’s go time with the new building against a tough Lions team.
This past Sunday, the Bills shocked the league by going into Houston and putting up 36 points on the Texans’ defense, a unit that is known for being the best. Buffalo now gets a favorable matchup against Detroit’s defense as their secondary is in shambles.
Against the Texans, there were lots to be excited about if you are a Bills fan. First, Joe Brady got his first win as a head coach and he got it against a team that the Bills have not beaten in Houston since 2006. Then tight end Dalton Kincaid led the team with 130 yards through the air and showed that if he stays healthy, he’s going to reach an All-Pro year.

According to the Buffalo Bills' PR X page, if the Bills manage to beat the Lions, Brady will become the first head coach in franchise history to start out 2-0 in his first year, which is something that Sean McDermott and Marv Levy never did.
In addition, Kincaid can become the first tight end in Bills history to have consecutive games of 100+ receiving yards. Considering the fact that this game could easily be high-scoring, Kincaid may get a lot of targets which could lead to lots of yards and big plays.

It’s time for the new stadium to start creating memories that will last a lifetime for Bills Mafia. The new era of Bills football kicked off in Week 1 and it was a totally different attack than what fans had expected.
Buffalo’s offense looked unstoppable against the best defense in the league, and now they will get the chance to repeat that kind of performance against a defense that allowed the New Orleans Saints to come back and force overtime (and almost win on a 2-point conversion).
Kickoff is at 8:15PM and whether you are a fan of either the Bills or Lions, or even just a big time football fan, you don’t want to miss this exciting game between two high powered offenses.
