When the NFL preseason was over with and teams had to get their initial 53-man roster solidified, one of the more surprising (but also not too surprising) moves that was made was the Tennessee Titans waiving QB Will Levis. Quite frankly, the Titans had no choice but to move on from him since they had drafted Cam Ward in 2025 despite taking Levis in the second round in 2023.
Once the initial rosters were all set, I wrote about how the Bills should have atleast considered bringing in Levis as a stop where he can learn and grow from Josh Allen. Much like Allen, Levis is a big quarterback who has the arm strength to be successful in this league. He just hasn't been in the greatest situation with the Titans.
Levis went unclaimed and he was then free to sign anywhere. However, he has landed with the Jets' practice squad, per Tom Pelissero which gives the Jets a veteran QB on their practice squad with a chance for a reset season. Levis worked out with the Jets a few weeks ago, and now he will be coming to the AFC East for atleast this season.

Bills should have strongly considered bringing in Will Levis for PS spot
It’s the practice squad, it wouldn’t have hurt the Bills in any way. However, they have Shane Buechele but Levis simply has more talent than Buchele to succeed in this league.
Levis showed promise in his rookie season once he became the starter, throwing for 1,808 yards and 8 touchdowns to just 4 interceptions. With a new head coach in Brian Callahan in 2024, many thought that Levis would be able to thrive. Instead, it was the complete opposite as he looked like a true backup in Callahan's system.
Once the Titans drafted Ward with the first pick in 2025, Levis' time in Tennessee was going to be coming to an end. He didn't play at all last season, and now he is out of Tennessee.
Will Levis joining the Jets is an interesting landing spot
Granted, the Jets are the only known team that showed interest in Levis, but come on, it's the Jets...
With the way that Levis' career has been up to this point, it would have made more sense for him to try and join a team that has a superstar quarterback so that he could learn from him.
The Bills had signed Mitch Trubisky in 2021 to backup Josh Allen after spending time with the Chicago Bears where he wasn't necessarily bad, but he was far from good. Trubisky spent a season with the Bills, then joined the Pittsburgh Steelers, but then eventually came back to Buffalo. Now, ironically, he's in Tennessee backing up Cam Ward.
I'm a little surprised that the Bills wouldn't try to get Levis on the practice squad, just because of the talent that he has shown, but instead, the Jets will have him in their building.
