The Buffalo Bills are set to close out their next two games to end the regular season within the division. First up is Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets. The Bills beat the Jets back in Week 6, 23-20. Rookie running back Ray Davis had 152 total yards and Josh Allen had a bounce back game (215 yards, 3 total touchdowns) after having arguably his worst game of his career the week prior.
The Jets are out of playoff contention, while the Bills can lock up the No. 2 seed in the AFC playoffs with a win. While Buffalo has won three of their last four games since their bye week, it hasn’t been all pretty.
Their defense has given up over 35 points per game the last three weeks and the injuries have piled up once again. However, the Bills did recieve some good news about Matt Milano, who missed last Sunday’s game, as he was listed as a full participant on Thursday.
The Jets’ latest injury report could significantly help Bills in Week 17
The Jets, much like the Bills, practiced on Thursday after not practicing on Wednesday. They posted their Thursday injury report and there are two names that stand out as players who haven’t practiced; cornerback Sauce Gardner and wideout Davante Adams. Gardner is dealing with a hamstring injury while Adams was listed as having a hi injury.
According to Rich Cimini, there is a better chance that Adams could potentially play more than Gardner which gives Josh Allen and the Bills’ offense a potentially big break. Since New York’s Week 12 bye week, they are only allowing 225 passing yards per game so them potentially losing Gardner could be a gift for Josh Allen and the passing attack for Buffalo.
When it comes to Adams, even if he does play, it may not be at full health. He has scored five touchdowns the last four games and has two games of 100+ yards in the last three weeks. Just like we all expected, he has become Aaron Rodgers’ go-to guy, averaging 12 targets per game the last month.
With the Bills still having injury issues themselves in the secondary, they will need to hope that Adams isn’t the game-changer we all know he can play as if he does play this Sunday.
