With the No. 1 seed in the AFC locked up by the Kansas City Chiefs, the Buffalo Bills will be looking to get the second seed. If they defeat the New York Jets this Sunday, they will have the second seed locked up and their Week 18 matchup is pointless. However, Buffalo has to be very careful about risking injury so if it is the 4th quarter and they are up by three scores, Sean McDermott has to bench the starters.
Throughout this season, the Bills have been challenged by injuries going all the way back to training camp. Recently, the secondary has been heavily affected with Rasul Douglas, Taylor Rapp, and Damar Hamlin missing the last two games. Even Matt Milano missed last Sunday’s game and fans didn’t take too kind to him missing more time than he already has this season.
Before the start of the 2024 season, Milano tore his bicep and he was set to miss most if not all of the season. However, he managed to make a comeback when he made his season debut in Week 13 against the San Francisco 49ers. It’s been a quiet three games for Milano this season.
Bills get great injury update on Matt Milano for Week 17
The Bills’ PR X account provided a Thursday injury report for the Bills and Milano was listed as a full participant. He was the only player that was listed as limited on Wednesday to be upgraded to a full participant.
The linebacker room for the Bills has been hit just a little bit the last couple of weeks. Baylon Spector was listed as week-to-week with a calf injury, and Dorian Williams suffered an elbow injury a couple weeks ago that limited him in Week 16. Having Milano back in the lineup with Terrel Bernard should help bring some stability to the Bills’ defense.
With two regular season games left, Milano has to find a way to bring a spark to Buffalo’s defense. He hasn’t been the same All-Pro player he once was because of multiple injuries he has had. If he doesn’t show some fight for the rest of the season, it would not be a surprise to see the Bills part ways with Milano next offseason.
