The only thing better than watching your favorite team succeed is seeing a division rival struggling. For nearly two decades, the New England Patriots had the pleasure of beating the Buffalo Bills year-in and year-out. That all changed once Tom Brady left the AFC East and the Bills decided to take the division from there on out.

Since Brady’s departure, the Patriots have only been to the playoffs once (which they lost to the Bills 47-17), and they are on their third quarterback since Brady. First it was Cam Newton, then Mac Jones, and now rookie quarterback Drake Maye.

The Patriots are in a rebuild of their franchise. They have a fresh start with new head coach Jerod Mayo and Maye. Overall, they just simply don’t have the talent to be a winning football team this season. We all knew this, but their latest loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London just shows how bad they are.

New England lost 32-16 to Jacksonville and they dropped to 1-6 on the year. Following their horrendous loss, Jerod Mayo spoke to the media and made a statement that simply shows us all that the Patriots are nowhere near the level of most of their competition, which includes the Buffalo Bills.

New England Patriots are miles behind Buffalo Bills

It is safe to say that no one expected the Patriots to be contenders, but they look absolutely pathetic up to this point. At one point, people were saying that it was the Bills that were going to be the ones struggling but they must have missed out on how much the Patriots still have to improve on.

For Mayo to call his team “soft” is a bold yet true statement. The head coach calling his team this term shows no confidence and Bills fans should be happy that they are nowhere near the Patriots’ level.

Buffalo has owned New England the last four seasons and they will face them in two of the last three weeks of this year. The Patriots simply aren’t talented enough and they aren’t in the same talent league as Buffalo.
