No matter what exciting matchup is taking place this week, no game is bigger than the one that will be taking place in Orchard Park between the Bills and the Chiefs. It’s the 5-2 Bills going up against the 5-3 Chiefs in a classic Josh Allen vs. Patrick Mahomes battle.

This could easily be another great chapter in this rivalry and it’s happening right in front of Bills Mafia. Buffalo has to bring their best in order to walk out victorious and there are some players that have to step up in order to make that happen.

4 bold predictions for Bills vs. Chiefs in Week 9

James Cook rushes for 200+ yards again

Last week against the Carolina Panthers, James Cook had himself a career day with over 200 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground. He was by far not only the best player for the Bills, he was the best player in football in Week 8. During the Bills’ two-game losing streak, the Bills didn’t utilize Cook properly and it hurt them.

Now, you would think after last week’s performance, it would be clear as day of what the Bills need to do in order to win this game; feed James Cook. If Joe Brady goes with the same gameplan like he did last week, Cook could very much rush for over 200 yards again.

Joey Bosa sacks Patrick Mahomes twice

One of the biggest concerns that Bills fans had when Buffalo signed Joey Bosa was whether or not he could stay on the field. He has been serviceable at the minimum for the Bills’ defense. Bosa has 3 sacks this season, as well as 4 forced fumbles. This is the perfect game for Bosa to have a breakout game against a quarterback that he played football against every year since 2019 when Bosa was in Los Angeles.

Elijah Moore gets into the endzone

It’s been a disappointing season for Elijah Moore. He has only started in two games and has just 5 catches for 78 yards. His only touchdown he had came on the ground against his old team, the New York Jets.

The Bills may have to get a little creative at times against the Chiefs and if Moore is suited up, this is where he could be useful. Whether it’s a jet sweep or a pass down the sideline, Moore could see himself celebrating six points in the endzone with the ball in his hands.

This game goes into overtime

When Allen and Mahomes have faced off against each other, the Bills and Chiefs have only gone into overtime once. In the divisional round in 2022, 28 total points were scored between both times and it led to an overtime period. The Bills had just scored late in the 4th quarter, with 13 seconds left in regulation but it still proved to be too much time for the Chiefs.

After Kansas City tied it to force overtime, the Chiefs got the ball to start overtime and they drove it down the field to send the Bills home early in the playoffs. Do I believe that this exact scenario will happen again? Absolutely not.

However, don’t think that we may not get an extra couple of drives in overtime if this becomes a back-and-forth battle between these two powerhouse teams.
