The Buffalo Bills defense was a bit disappointing last season, as their weakest position on the entire team is undoubtedly in the secondary, as Christian Benford was the only standout player within that part of the field. Now, due to the immense focus within the secondary through the 2025 NFL Draft, the Bills have some new faces to showcase their talent and help revive that positional group.

This year, the younger secondary will be tested against some of the best wide receivers in the game, and showcase the rookies' ability against some of the best in the world.

Top three receivers Buffalo Bills will face in 2025

Garrett Wilson, NY Jets

There are many great receivers that the Bills are facing this year, and it was hard to rank the third-best out of all the rest. Garrett Wilson is one of the few talents on the NY Jets at the moment. He isn't just a number-one receiver, he's talented enough to be one of the best in the game.

However, since he got drafted in 2022, he's had Zach Wilson and 40-year-old Aaron Rodgers throwing him the ball, which aren't the most ideal passers you'd want, especially as a young receiver. Yet, he's still managed to record over 1,000 receiving yards every season.

Wilson's career is just starting, as he will be turning 25 years old by the time the season begins. Now, with Justin Fields likely to be the Jets' starter in 2025, Wilson's talent probably won't go into full effect, but he's still one of the most dangerous receivers in the NFL. Unfortunately for the Bills, they will have to worry about him at least twice a year possible for the long-term future.

A.J Brown, Philadelphia Eagles

Week 17's Bills vs. Eagles will be one of the best, if not the best matchup in the entirety of this upcoming season. Brown is arguably the best jump ball receiver in the entire league and will be putting the Bills' young secondary to the test late in the season.

Brown got drafted by Tennessee in 2019 and took the league by storm, recording over 1,000 yards and eight touchdowns in his rookie year. Brown showcased his talent when Tennessee traded him to Philly in 2022, pairing him up with another young stud in DeVonta Smith. Brown would record almost 1,500 receiving yards in 2022 and 2023 and took a little step back in 2024 due to missing a few games.

The last time both of these teams faced off, both offenses brawled until the Eagles scored the game-winning touchdown in OT. Brown only recorded 37 yards but scored a touchdown. Regardless, due to Brown's talent and the Eagles' overall talent, this will be one of the toughest matchups this season.

Ja'Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals' identity in 2024 was to air the ball as much as possible, specifically to Ja'Marr Chase or Tee Higgins. Both of these receivers complement each other well, and both are immense talents, but it's clear that Chase is the 1A to Higgins' 1B.

Chase just signed a huge contract earlier in the offseason, signing a four-year, $161 million deal. Chase is a product that is rare to find, and one of those players who's just absolutely hard to cover, especially with the rare chemistry between Chase and a talented quarterback like Joe Burrow throwing him the ball.

Since Chase got drafted, he's recorded the most receiving yards by a rookie, made two All-Pro teams, and four Pro Bowls, and had his best season last year. He led the league last year in receiving yards, touchdowns, and receptions. There's a reason why Chase got paid, and he's only getting better. All the Bills can do is contain Chase, and not let him take over the game.
