While the Buffalo Bills are 4-1 on the season, they have not looked like an overall great team the last two games. Last week against the New Orleans Saints in Week 4, they let the Saints stick around and didn’t come alive until the second half. Then, yesterday against the New England Patriots, the Bills played their worst game of the season so far and lost their first game of the season.

Against the Saints, the Bills won 31-19 but were only up 21-19 at one point in the 4th quarter. Luckily, they pulled away with the win. However, they only had the lead once against the Patriots and they didn’t keep it for very long. With Buffalo’s sloppy play, even Josh Allen couldn’t lift them to victory and now the Bills have their first loss of the season.

Between these two games, the Bills went 1-1 but there is one major common problem that the Bills have shown that needs fixing.

Bills have become an undisciplined football team last two games

Over the last two games, the Bills have 22 accepted penalties against them. They had 11 against the Saints that resulted them in losing 55 yards and then they had 11 last night which resulted in them losing 90 yards. Buffalo has become undisciplined and it's shown the last two weeks.

Some of the penalties that we are seeing from the Bills range from offensive/defensive holding, illegal formation, and even illegal contact on defense. They are not playing disciplined football overall and now it cost them a win within the division.

It’s still early in the season and while Buffalo can clean this problem up, it’s going to take a ton of work. Penalties can sometimes be the difference maker for a team winning or losing a game. Going into Week 6 where they will hit the road, the Bills will have to become more disciplined and now allow careless penalties get in their way.
