The Buffalo Bills officially are no longer undefeated, as they drop it 23-20 at the hands of the New England Patriots. The Bills drop to 4-1 and have their first loss in the division. While they still remain at the top of the AFC East, the Patriots hold the tiebreaker on them and are now just one game behind them.
This was a horrible game all around by the Bills. They had 11 accepted penalties against them and they had two turnovers in the first quarter that ended up being a big difference maker. It’s simple, New England wanted it more than Buffalo and now they are the team celebrating while Buffalo is dealing with a little adversity now.
While the Bills have a lot to fix for Week 6, it was all terrible in their loss.
Bills' winners and losers from Week 5 loss
Winner: TE Dalton Kincaid
We got to experience the Dalton Kincaid breakout game as he led the Bills with 6 catches for 108 yards. He was Josh Allen’s go-to guy and he had some big catches. Hopefully this was just the beginning of what could be to come.
Winner: Bills' offensive line
For the most part, the Bills' offensive line held up their end in protecting Josh Allen. Sure, they allowed a sack but it was early on in the game. However, in crucial moments, they provided a great pocket for Josh Allen. It just wasn't enough unfortunately.
Loser: DE Joey Bosa
In a big game under the lights, going up against a rookie left tackle in Will Campbell, Bosa was nowhere to be found. This is now the second week where he was quiet when he should have beena game disrupter. After a strong start for the Bills, Bosa has cooled down. The Bills have not been able to produce a consistent pass rush in awhile.
Loser: CB Christian Benford
Since getting paid this offseason, Christian Benford has not lived up to his contract that he got. He’s played a little sloppy and he hasn’t been the lockdown corner that he was the last two seasons. This game should be a bit of a wake up call for him moving forward.
Loser: CB Tre'Davious White
Since the start of this season, Tre’Davious White has looked awful and there were a handful of times where he allowed Stefon Diggs to get open and make a play. White is not a shutdown corner and he’s barely average at best. Fans need to be hoping that Maxwell Hairston can get onto the field sooner rather than later.
