The Buffalo Bills had themselves a solid first week of free agency with minimal, yet impactful free agent signings. They brought in solid defensive help with Bradley Chubb, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, Dee Alford and Geno Stone. The secondary is looking a lot more different for the better.
As for the offense, the biggest move right now for them was trading for D.J. Moore from the Chicago Bears. Up to this point, the Bills have had a somewhat quiet yet not so quiet offseason. Still, more work needs to be done. Now they have to decide what to do with Ryan Van Demark’s future with the team as the Vikings have signed him to an offer sheet as a restricted free agent.
While the Bills have made some moves, they have only seen five of their own free agents land somewhere else. David Edwards, Mitch Trubisky, Reggie Gilliam, Cam Lewis, A.J. Epenesa, and Darnell Savage have all signed with different teams but there are still plenty of their own free agents who have yet to sign somewhere.
Predicting where current Bills free agents will sign going into second free agency wave
EDGE Joey Bosa
Predicted landing spot: San Francisco 49ers
This just seems like it’s destined to happen. The 49ers were interested in Joey Bosa last offseason, along with the Dolphins. But he opted to come to Western New York instead. Now, him going to San Francisco to team up with his brother and add to their edge rusher room makes too much sense.
LB Matt Milano
Predicted landing spot: Indianapolis Colts
The Colts are in need of some linebacker help and Matt Milano is still surprisingly available. While he’s not in his prime anymore, he played very well last season and stayed healthy as well. Indianapolis could utilize a veteran like Milano.Â
Throughout his career with the Bills, Milano was the heart and soul at one point. However, injuries kept piling up and it was just time to let him walk.
CB Tre'Davious White
Predicted landing spot: Kansas City Chiefs
When you look at the roster of the Kansas City Chiefs, their secondary looks atrocious. At this point, they could use anyone to try and bring some kind of stability to the backend. Tre’Davious White played solid last season and he was a starter for Buffalo’s pass-defense that was solid.
If the Chiefs wanted to take a fan-favorite from the Bills, White would be a solid veteran pickup for them while they look to rebuild the secondary.
WR Curtis Samuel
Predicted landing spot: Miami Dolphins
The Bills releasing Curtis Samuel was no shock whatsoever for various reasons. With the Miami Dolphins clearing house which included them trading Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos, they could use any kind of help for Malik Willis.
Samuel is a veteran who has had success prior to coming to Buffalo, but he couldn’t stay healthy and there were plenty of times where he was a healthy scratch. If the Dolphins wanted to bring him on a one-year prove-it deal, it would make a lot of sense.
