Last night’s dynamic NFC Championship game between the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams was one for the books. The third quarter had 28 combined points and the ultimate difference maker in this game was the Rams dropping a punt that Seattle recovered and capitalized on.

However, this game also featured a great amount of tape for teams that have head coaching vacancies, including the Buffalo Bills. Between the Rams and Seahawks, there were three coaches who could make a case to be a head coach in the NFL; Seahawks’ OC Klint Kubiak, Rams’ DC Chris Shula, and Rams’ pass game coordinator Nathan Scheelhaase.

The Seahawks ended up getting the 31-27 win over the Rams to punch their ticket to the Super Bowl to take on the Patriots. The offense for Seattle was absolutely on point in this game and a lot of credit goes to Kubiak, who has received head coaching interviews.

Seattle had 396 yards of total offense and went 7/13 on third-down against a tough Rams defense. Sam Darnold had 346 yards and 3 touchdowns, with 153 of those yards going to Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

This performance by the Seahawks was really eye-opening, and it makes you wonder if the Bills will want to try and speak to Kubiak. However, Buffalo is not allowed to request an interview with him until after the Super Bowl. At the same time, sometimes patience is the best thing to have.

Hall of Fame coach Tony Dungy makes valid point on greatness of Klint Kubiak

After Seattle’s win over LA, former head coach Tony Dungy took to X and talked about the greatness of the Seahawks, but gave a shoutout to Klint Kubiak and his performance as a playcaller.

He’s brought a system that utilizes their talents as well as those of his running backs. He’s brought toughness and the play action game and given the whole offense confidence.” said Dungy.

While the offense for Buffalo hasn’t been the huge problem as to why they can’t get over the hump, it does make you wonder what kind of offense Kubiak could put together with Josh Allen and James Cook leading the way.

I’m not saying that Kubiak is the best option for the head coach position in Buffalo, but he certainly has done a lot in Seattle with a quarterback in Sam Darnold. Imagine what he might be able to do with Allen as his quarterback.
