The Buffalo Bills will now join the head coaching cycle that is currently happening as they have fired Sean McDermott after 9 seasons with the Bills. With their latest playoff loss against the Denver Broncos that was yet another heartbreaker, that was the final straw and now McDermott is out.
Buffalo hasn’t been in this position since 2017 after they fired Rex Ryan before hiring Sean McDermott. Now, they will be looking for the second head coach under Brandon Beane.
There are a lot of people and players that are upset about this news because of what McDermott has done for the Bills since arriving. However, with the constant heartbreaks every single January since 2020 due to the defense being the problem, it was time for a change.
Now the question becomes; Who will be the next head coach for the Buffalo Bills? Well, one former Bill has made it clear who the Bills should be hiring to replace McDermott.
Former Bill Jonathan Feliciano wants Bills to hire Brian Daboll as next HC
After the news broke about McDermott being fired, former Bills’ offensive line Jonathan Feliciano took to X where he posted “Brian Daboll should be the next HC of the Buffalo Bills!!!”

It’s not surprising to see Daboll as a potential candidate for the Bills, considering the fact that he was the team’s offensive coordinator from 2018-2021 where he helped Josh Allen become the quarterback that he is today. He coached Allen hard and Allen became one of the top quarterbacks in the league underneath him.
The Bills will have their hands full with their new head coach search as they are behind scheduled. The Giants and Falcons have already hired new head coaches, but with the Bills making this move with McDermott, they just became the best landing spot for any head coaching candidate.
When it comes to Daboll, it makes a ton of sense to hire him back, despite what happened with him with the New York Giants. That mess that happened with the Giants was not all on Daboll. He now may have a great shot at coming back to Buffalo to take over and reunite with Josh Allen. Only time will tell.
